"Politics is the gentle art of getting votes from the poor and campaign funds from the rich by promising to protect each from the other"

Welcome to the Oscar Ameringer Memorial Gallery

To my great grandfather:

I often ponder the words you chose to sum up your life - If You Don't Weaken. My stronghold has been the legend you are in my family; a man who didn't weaken. A man who didn't back down, who lived life to the fullest. This is your legacy: generations of Ameringers who are artists, musicians, writers, political activists, designers, architects, and thinkers. Each of us, in our own way, has held fast to our souls and not weakened.

This is my tribute to that ideal.
