Tales From Avator
It occurs
It occurs, in these late night hours when all the world has grown cold and dark. When we are alone. It is during these times, when I can feel all the emptiness that can creep into a soul, that I begin to fade. I stand in the darkness, alone, staring out of a window. I stare at the lifeless night, straining my sight for a glimpse, a sign. Just a gesture as to why I wait, something to save me from myself.
My heart pounds as my flesh shutters. The energy that burns inside me lashes out at the sky. It crackles around the room and settles back within me, impatiently waiting, yearning to be set free into the blackened night sky.
My door has always remained open to them. They are family, but they have forgotten me. So I wait for their awakening, feeling it drawing ever closer... yet seeming never to arrive. I hope they will notice I am missing.
I think, "Am I forever damned to walk the worlds of light as a reminder of something I have forgotten?" I can never remember.
It occurs, in these late night hours when all the world has grown cold and dark. As a tear begins to fall down my cheek, I turn from the window and walk away.
