Untitled Song
Teardrops fall like glowing crystals,
As onstage a play unfolds.
A wedding scene, this was to be his moment
Second in the spotlight, the lines are his
And his alone, the play draws to a close
One of the students comes to the microphone,
'David should have been here today,
These words were his, came from him
He could have done it so much better than me.'
The act finishes, the students walk off
A single girl steps on stage, picks up the mike
Begins to sing and her voice Echos
Around the crowded hall. She sings
Of a friend who is no more
A brother less sister love
And finally of the dreams that develop through loss.
Teardrops fall like glowing crystals
A nod or shake of the head
And he's gone, a memory alas, he's dead.
