Our Rubbish For Them

The rubbish we throw away today

will add to the mountains

of rubbish we buried yesterday

and for weeks

and years before that

In the fullness of time

somebody will find our rubbish

and call it treasure

of the past

Archaeologists have been

doing this for centuries

and I'm sure they will

for many more

as long as we carry on

throwing away our rubbish

for them to find
