Headed Home
by K. Kylyra Ameringer
A water-soaked reflection
Drifts across the night
Time shadows
It catches my eye
Flying away
To melt on the far horizon.
Everyone's asleep
The world wrapped up
In casket grey
Mourning clothes
And in delicious exhaustion
I keep my watch;
I am headed home.
Back to the paths with my name
Etched in stone
Back to my corner room
Under the tree
Back to my patch of midnight
Fallen from the sky
Back to me;
I am headed home
