the World of NON (or Dark World video)
a brief history of franklinNateONSLAUGHT
From 1997-1999 J.A.Bohr was a student in the Sound Arts and Video and Digital Arts programs at the MCTC, Minneapolis, MN working on double majors. Due to contractual agreements with Dark World, J.A.B. had to use the name franklinNateONSLAUGHT as producer. At school he produced The Descent Documentary, NON - Exhibit 001 A Vision of NON in a World of Dreams, and three other shorts.
The Descent Documentary is a half-hour long documentary about the University of Minneapolis Radio K 770 radio show team, The Descent. Edited in a Dark World fashion, it featured interviews with the DJs, local bands, and live performances. Infinisynth performed live on the show, but does not feature in the video.
NON - Exhibit 001 A Vision of NON in a World of Dreams is something entirely different. Non is a multi-interpretive style living within the realms of both Narrative and Formal elements. Like the book named Masquerade by Kit Williams (which tells of a treasure hidden in the world, but told where hidden in the puzzles of his book), Exhibit 001 is a simple experiment into non, where a statement is hidden in the whole of the work. No one element is the answer. Producer franklinNateONSLAUGHT chose to do this work to the sounds of Dream Quest's "Sleep of the Innocents (dark city mix)". The Video is 6 1/2 minutes in length. The experiment of NON - Exhibit 001 is to find out if anyone can guess the answer (where the prize is a copy of Dream Quest's Season One - courtesy of Dark World International). No one has gotten it yet.
