NOORDERSLAG WEEKEND continued...
The meetings and panels are held during the day at De Oosterpoort and serve as the prime discussion and network platform for international and Dutch music with an emphasis on European music, touring, festivals, the live music industry and media developments. A healthy mix of international and Dutch panels, Noorderslag Seminar is a unique opportunity to mix with music industry personnel from all levels of the industry.
Now in its 21st year, Noorderslag Festival turns De Oosterpoort into a music arena with eight stages and fifty of the very best artists The Netherlands has to offer. A continuously sold-out event, Noorderslag includes hip hop, rap, urban, techno, pop, avant garde, dance, alternative, rock, and every genre in between. 'It (Noorderslag) was a dizzying array of music under one roof. We just kept walking around from stage to stage and tried to see as many performers as we could. LIVE IN THE LIVING
In addition to Eurosonic and Noorderslag, a project called Live in the Living ran for three days in Groningen. Live in the Living was initiated by Rick Treffers van Mist in 2002 and offers music fans an opportunity to see artists in a very intimate setting - the living rooms of participating people. There are no stages and no lights; just the music in an acoustic setting. The idea is gaining ground in Spain and Germany, so visit www.liveinthelivingroom.nl for more information.
