Photographer Kristine Ameringer releases new pictures at Dark World International
Bantry, Co. Cork, Ireland - 03 March 2008 - Dark World International is proud to announce the opening of a new internet gallery wing featuring the pictures of award winning photographer Kristine Ameringer. A long time featured favourite at www.darkworld.com, the Oscar Ameringer Memorial Gallery is a tribute to both Ameringer's famous artist/writer great-grandfather and to her own unique artistic eye. The new wing includes 30 of Ameringer's best landscape photography with comments by the artist.
A contributing artist to Dark World International, Ameringer's photography has garnished awards and market interest in the United States, Canada, Netherlands, and Ireland. Inspired by Ansel Adams, Ameringer specializes in landscaped photography. Working in both colour and black and white film Ameringer captures a scene's essence with the camera lens, creating timelessly beautiful photographs. While her photographs gain world wide popularity, the photographer herself remains reclusive. "I prefer to let my work speak for itself," according to Ameringer.
Ameringer is more forthcoming on the interest in her great-grandfather. A well known historical political activist, journalist, author, musician, and painter, Oscar Ameringer has long been one of Ameringer's heroes. "It's gratifying to see so many people still interested in Oscar Ameringer. I'm amazed at the amount of visitors I've seen come through www.darkworld.com looking for him. Dark World International has expanded to include information on Oscar's life, his work, and a few photos including a very rare family photo from one of my cousins. I hope to continue to add to Oscar's area as time goes on."
